While traveling through different sites within Berlin one can experience numerous technical difficulties: communication follies, cell phone running out of minutes, hard drive crashing and limited use of the internet. These common problems are shared with many other temporary residents throughout Berlin.

This is what a majority of people experience physically and psychologically when they study abroad as a temporary resident in a foreign city.

In Psychology, displacement is the diversion of an unacceptable thought or impulse from its actual target to a less threatening object or person. One way to avoid the risk associated with feeling unpleasant emotions is to displace them, or put them somewhere other than where they belong. A common example is being angry at your boss. Displaying that anger could cost you your job. You might be afraid that you can not contain it, but also afraid of what will happen if you express it toward your boss. You might instead express it, but redirect it toward some other, safer source, such as your partner or best friend. You yell at them and pick a fight. They will forgive you or ignore it, and then you are able to express your anger but without risking your job.

A series of utilitarian objects that are a meticulous three–dimensional actuality on a two–dimensional surface. The objects are decorated with stickers and labels, which read, “Palm Mall” or “Adidas.” The specific details tell precise stories of sub-cultures in the music and art world, through combining products, bathroom furniture and the adornment of corporate identity. The complex work shows new techniques and introduces the nontraditional way of constructed content to simulate the minuet details that resemble the everyday objects around us in public and our home.
